Are your campsites open in winter?

Camping Le Château is not open during winter. You can check dates and availability in real time on our booking engine.

What is the minimum and maximum length of stay?

Arrivals are possible every day, even during peak season, for greater flexibility. The minimum stay may vary depending on the accommodation and the period; it is automatically indicated on the booking engine when you select your dates. The maximum stay is limited by our opening period and availability.

How do I cancel or change my booking?

For any cancellation or modification, please contact us by e-mail at contact@camping-hauterives.com.
The conditions applied (refund, possible fees, postponement) depend on the date of your request in relation to the start of your stay and the general terms and conditions of sale accepted at the time of booking. Please remember to include your name, file number and dates of stay for quick processing.

I am cancelling or shortening my stay. What do I need to do to get a refund from my cancellation insurance?

If you have taken out our cancellation insurance, you must report your claim directly to the insurer, providing the required supporting documents (medical certificate, professional certificate, etc.). Reimbursement will be made in accordance with the cover provided for in the contract. The campsite does not itself make any reimbursements but will assist you with the process if necessary.

When can you take out cancellation insurance?

When booking your stay at Camping Le Château in Hauterives, you have the option of taking out cancellation insurance. This option is only available when booking online. It must be taken out on the day of booking and the cost is added to your deposit. Choosing cancellation insurance means you can go on holiday with complete peace of mind and protect yourself against the unexpected.

What does your cancellation insurance cover?

Cancellation insurance allows you to be reimbursed for all or part of the sums paid if you are forced to cancel or interrupt your stay for a justified reason covered by the contract (serious illness, accident, hospitalisation, death of a relative, unforeseen professional obligations, damage to your home, etc.). The exact terms and conditions are specified in the insurer’s policy document, which is sent to you when you make your booking. This cover prevents you from losing your holiday budget in the event of an unforeseen circumstance beyond your control.

Practical information

Can I choose a specific location or accommodation, or specify a preference?

Yes, when making your booking, you can specify your preferred location or accommodation (shaded, close to the toilets, near the swimming pool, etc.) in the comments section. Subject to availability, we will do our utmost to satisfy your requests, but we cannot guarantee the availability of a specific location. Please feel free to contact our team before your arrival to refine your choice. At Camping Le Château, we prioritise flexibility and comfort so that you can fully enjoy your holiday in Drôme des Collines.

How can I reserve several pitches or rental properties at once, or next to each other?

To reserve several pitches or accommodations side by side, simply indicate your request in the comments section of your booking, or contact reception directly. We always endeavour to group families and friends together, subject to availability. This is an ideal solution for enjoying a convivial stay at the heart of the family campsite in Hauterives.

Is the campsite accessible to people with reduced mobility?

Yes, Camping Le Château is accessible to people with reduced mobility. We have a specially equipped chalet for people with reduced mobility and several pitches are adapted. The main paths are accessible by vehicle and the sanitary facilities have adapted spaces. Our goal: to allow everyone to enjoy a peaceful holiday in the heart of the Drôme des Collines.

Are pets allowed?

Yes, pets are welcome at Camping Le Château (except for restricted breeds). Your dog can stay with you on your pitch or in certain types of accommodation, for an additional fee. They must be kept on a lead, have up-to-date vaccinations and comply with the campsite’s hygiene rules. Travelling with your pet means enjoying a hassle-free family holiday at a 3-star campsite surrounded by nature.

How many vehicles per pitch or rental unit?

Each pitch or rental accommodation at the campsite includes one parking space. A second vehicle may be accepted subject to availability and at an additional cost. Car parks are located in the immediate vicinity for a convenient and secure stay.

Do you offer charging stations for electric cars?

Currently, Camping Le Château in Hauterives does not have charging stations for electric vehicles. However, several charging points are available in the immediate vicinity of the campsite, in the centre of Hauterives and its surroundings. Please feel free to ask for advice at reception when you arrive: we can direct you to the nearest charging stations so that you can recharge your vehicle with complete peace of mind during your holiday in Drôme des Collines.

Do you accept unaccompanied minors?

For the safety and peace of mind of all our guests, we do not accept bookings for minors unaccompanied by a responsible adult. Bookings must be made by an adult who will be present for the entire duration of the stay.

Is it possible to add a tent or marquee next to my accommodation?

On an empty pitch, it is possible to set up an additional small tent, for example to accommodate a child or friend, within the authorised capacity limit.
However, no tents may be added next to rental accommodation (mobile homes, chalets, unusual accommodation). To ensure everyone’s safety and comfort, marquees and large structures are also not permitted.

Are barbecues permitted?

At Camping Le Château, only gas or electric barbecues are permitted on your pitch or in front of your accommodation.
Charcoal or wood-burning barbecues are strictly prohibited due to fire hazards and local regulations.
The campsite does not have a communal barbecue area, but we offer plancha grills for hire so you can cook easily and safely during your stay.

How can I check availability and calculate the price of my stay?

Simply use our online booking engine: select your dates of stay, the number of people and the type of accommodation you want (pitch, mobile home, chalet or unusual accommodation). The system automatically calculates the price based on the period and options chosen. You can then view the availability and prices for your stay at Camping Le Château in Drôme des Collines in real time, with no booking fees.

What is included in my rate?

Your rate includes the provision of the pitch or rental accommodation, access to shared sanitary facilities for campers, and use of the campsite’s facilities and services: adjoining swimming pool area (in season), playgrounds, summer entertainment and practical services (snack bar, reception, tourist information). For rental accommodation, crockery, kitchen utensils and basic equipment are also included. Any optional extras (sheets, towels, end-of-stay cleaning, plancha grill hire, etc.) are available at an additional cost.

How do offers and promotions apply?

Special offers and promotions appear directly in our booking engine and are automatically applied when you select your dates. They may be limited in time or depending on the type of accommodation. What payment methods do you accept?

We accept credit cards (Visa, Mastercard), ANCV holiday vouchers and bank transfers for payment of your stay. On site, you can also pay for certain services (snacks, optional extras) by credit card or cash. A 30% deposit is required at the time of booking, with the balance payable 30 days before arrival.

Can I pay in instalments?

Yes, Camping Le Château in Hauterives offers payment plans to help you organise your holiday budget.
A 30% deposit is required at the time of booking. The balance can then be paid up to 30 days before your arrival.

Before my stay

When will I receive confirmation of my booking?

After confirming your booking online or by telephone, you will receive a confirmation email within 24 hours detailing your stay: dates, accommodation or pitch, amount paid and balance due. If you cannot find the message in your main inbox, please check your spam folder. If you have any questions, our reception team is available to assist you.

I would like to add services

You can add additional services (bed linen hire, towel kit, end-of-stay cleaning, plancha grill hire, baby equipment, etc.) at the time of booking or later by contacting us directly by telephone or e-mail. These options allow you to personalise your stay and enjoy a comfortable holiday.

Can I book my activities in advance?

For outdoor activities (visits to the Palais Idéal du Facteur Cheval, leisure parks, nature outings, etc.), bookings must be made directly with the service providers or via the Hauterives Tourist Office.
For activities offered at Camping Le Château in summer (social activities, theme nights, etc.), registration takes place on site at reception upon arrival to guarantee your place according to the schedule.

What are the arrival and departure times?

· Rentals (mobile homes, chalets, unusual accommodation): arrival from 3pm, departure before 10am.
· Pitches: arrival from 12 noon, departure before 12 noon.
These times allow our team to ensure high-quality cleaning and preparation for each guest.

I will arrive after reception closes. What should I do?

If you have already booked your stay and expect to arrive late, it is essential that you notify reception in advance. We will then put in place a simple procedure to give you your keys or the necessary information so that you can settle in peacefully, even after reception has closed.

Do I need to pay a deposit or security deposit?

Yes, a deposit is required for rental accommodation at Camping Le Château. It covers the equipment provided and the end-of-stay cleaning.
The best way to pay this deposit is online via our partner Swikly: this solution is simple and secure, and has the advantage of not blocking any funds in your account, unlike a credit card imprint.
The deposit is refunded after the departure inventory has been carried out, provided that no damage has been found.

During my stay

Late departure: is it possible?

Late check-out may be permitted subject to availability and only with the agreement of reception. This service may incur an additional charge. To take advantage of this service, please request it at reception the day before your departure.

Extend or shorten your stay?

If you wish to extend your stay, we will be happy to accommodate you, subject to availability. In the event of a shortened stay, the conditions applied depend on the booking terms and conditions and whether or not you have taken out cancellation/interruption insurance. Please enquire at reception for any changes.

Need help on site?

Our team is available throughout your stay at the campsite reception. We are here to help you with any technical issues in your accommodation, to advise you on visits and activities in the Drôme des Collines, or to assist you with any arrangements (bookings, practical information).

What type of catering?

Camping Le Château has a friendly snack bar, open during the season. Here you will find pizzas, simple dishes, cold drinks and ice cream. In summer, themed evenings are also organised for you to enjoy a convivial moment with family or friends.

Reservation for the restaurant or for breakfast?

The snack bar operates mainly without reservations for meals, but reservations are still recommended. However, certain special evenings or themed meals require reservations. We do not offer breakfast.

Paid activities?

Most of the activities offered by the campsite in summer (games, children’s entertainment, social evenings) are free of charge. Some activities organised by external providers (nature outings, guided tours, sports activities) may be subject to a charge. Please enquire at reception or at the Hauterives Tourist Office.

Services offered?

Camping Le Château offers a range of convenient services to make your stay easier:
Baby kit hire, sheets, towels, planchas, Wi-Fi (paid), snack bar and takeaway meals, adjoining swimming pool area accessible free of charge in season, children’s play areas, tourist information centre with all the information you need about the region.

My stay on a pitch

How many people can camp on the same pitch?

Each pitch at Camping Le Château can accommodate up to 6 people maximum (adults and children included). This capacity complies with comfort and safety standards, while ensuring a friendly, family atmosphere.

What type of electrical sockets are available?

All our bare pitches at Camping Le Château are equipped with European electrical sockets (CEE 10 A).
We recommend that you bring an adapter and an extension cord to make connecting your appliances easier.
⚠️ Please note: the sockets on the pitches are intended for domestic use only (camping appliances, refrigerators, etc.) and it is strictly forbidden to connect electric vehicles to them.

My stay in accommodation

What is the maximum capacity of the accommodation?

Our rental accommodation can accommodate between 2 and 6 people maximum, depending on the model chosen. Each property clearly states its capacity on our online booking engine.
Some properties accept pets (for an additional fee), while others do not. This information is also specified for each type of rental when you make your booking.

What is included with my accommodation?

In addition, all holidaymakers enjoy included access to the campsite’s facilities and services: adjoining swimming pool area (open in season), summer entertainment, children’s play areas and a friendly snack bar.
Are sheets and towels provided?
Sheets and towels are not included in the rental price. However, you can hire them as an option when you make your booking or request them at reception before you arrive.

What facilities are available in the accommodation?

At Camping Le Château in Hauterives, each accommodation unit includes: a fully equipped kitchen (hob, fridge, crockery and utensils), a living area, one or more bedrooms with bedding, and a bathroom with toilet, depending on the type of rental (except for certain canvas tents, which do not have these facilities and require the use of shared toilet blocks).
Freecamp pitches, meanwhile, have private sanitary facilities installed directly on the pitch.

Can we hire baby equipment?

Yes, we offer travel cot and high chair hire. This option must be booked in advance to guarantee availability and make your family stay easier.
Do I have to clean the accommodation before I leave?
The accommodation must be left clean and tidy when you leave. If you want to leave with peace of mind, you can book the end-of-stay cleaning option when you make your reservation or directly on site. However, you must still wash the dishes and empty the bins, sorting your waste as required.

After my stay

Forgotten something?

If you have forgotten an item during your stay at Camping Le Château, please contact reception as soon as possible by email or telephone, providing your contact details and a description of the item. If it is found, we can arrange for it to be returned to you using one of the available methods (collection on site or postal delivery at your expense).

Need an invoice?

You will receive the invoice by email on the day of your departure.
